From the gorgeous legislative buildings to Beacon Hill Park to Olympic Mountains to the Gate of Harmonious Interest, this carriage tour has it all!

The tour begins near the British Columbia Parliament Buildings in the Inner Harbor and passes by the Royal British Columbia Museum, Victoria's oldest church and the restored St. Anne's Academy - a sprawling convent that was renovated in the 1990s.  The tour visits the 62-acre Beacon Hill Park, home to colorful rare plant species and flowers, manicured gardens, ponds and a variety of birds - including the blue heron and swans.  The breathtaking views of the Olympic Mountains and the Juan de Fuca Strait are next on the list before traveling through the historic James Bay neighborhood.  A ride down Government Street leads to Chinatown and the Gate of Harmonious Interest.  The tour winds back through the Old Town of Victoria for a view of its waterfront buildings, riding by the luxurious Empress Hotel and stopping across from the Royal London Wax Museum.

COVID-19 Protocol Updates

Open-air carriage and trolley rides naturally offer much greater levels of safety than indoor activities and carriages are designed for guests to enjoy with people who are already in their small, consistent social bubble. The following practices and procedures are established in accordance with the BC Health Ministry and WorkSafeBC COVID-19 recommendations for safe operation, whose advice will continue to be monitored to enhance actions, as necessary.

  1. All guests required to wear a face mask
  2. Each ride will only carry customers from the same household bubble.
  3. Plexiglass divider between driver and guests in all carriages.
  4. Voice amplifier system on each carriage and trolley to ensure guests can clearly hear their driver.
  5. After each tour the carriage or trolley is thoroughly sanitized.
  6. Physical distancing markers on the pavement to maintain the 2 meter safe distancing protocols during check-in.
  7. Frequent sanitization of all high touch points including point of sale location, payment terminals and brochures.
  8. Hand sanitizer and soap and water available.
  9. Gloves and masks available for all staff to use at their discretion.
  10. Contact Tracing.
  11. Enhanced guest check-in procedures: health verification.
  12. Enhanced staff member screening for illness or need to self-isolate.

Please Note
